Last week’s question was: What has writing taught you? What have you learned over the years?

And I’m late cause it was graduation last week and I was running around getting things together.

Let go of the past and go for the future. Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you imagined. – Henry David Thoreau

But what has writing taught me? What have I learned over the years?

You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream. – C.S. Lewis

It has taught me to never give up. It has taught me that even if I never publish a story with a print house or e-publisher that I will keep writing. I write because I love it. And I write because I can’t not write.

Never give up on something that you can’t go a day without thinking about. – Unknown

I have learned that having a support system is important. It is critical. It is crucial. And support, not just cheerleaders but sounding boards and motivators. People who make you want to do better, be better and work harder. People who push and prod because they know how great you are, even if you don’t realize it yourself.

And all three of these quotes, reflect small pieces of what I’ve learned and what writing has taught me.
