Quickie Post – Quotes

I love quotes. And here is one of my faves by Ella Fitzgerald.

Just don’t give up trying to do what you really want to do. Where there is love and inspiration, I don’t think you can go wrong. — Ella Fitzgerald

I saw this quote at a time when I was restless with writing. I was floundering and stuck in the write and revise stage. And didn’t seem to be making any progress. Now, I love writing. I always have and it has always been my career goal but somewhere along the way I got off track.

Originally I started writing, started pursing my goal of being a published author because of my love of reading and the lack of diverse characters. And I still love writing my more adult, erotic stories but this is the heart of things  for me.

I feel that I’m finally back on track and heading in the right direction (it’s been a rough few years). And it’s mostly because of a new group of writing friends I’ve gotten to know better. They’re not new, we knew each other from online writing communities, but we never really took the time to hang out and get to know each other before.

Vanity vs Subsidy vs…

There is a lot of buzz around the internet due to the Harlequin  Horizons launch and the RWA reaction to the Harlequin Horizons launch.

I’m not going to get into a debate on whether HH is vanity or subsidy or what-have-you.

But here are a few links for you to get more information and decide for yourself.

Nano – Day 14

We’re at the two week mark for NaNoWriMo. And I am happy to say that book 1 of the Faery Dance Troupe series is done. Well the first draft is done. I’ll start the editing/revision phase/draft toward the end of January or early Feb.

Final word count on book 1 is 32542.

I also am planning two free reads. One I will post with the next EM free read. It’s a first kiss, first love story. The second is about lasting love and making love last in the face of difficult circumstances. The second will be a serial read I post on the blog. When the final chapter is posted, I will post it on the site as a complete read.
